Doge's Palace Student Tickets – Save with Your Student ID

If you are a student, you can get a reduced ticket for the Doge's Palace and the other museums run by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia (MUVE). The discount applies to the St. Mark's Square Museums ticket, the Secret Itineraries and Hidden Treasures tours, and the Museum Pass. This page explains who qualifies for Doge's Palace student tickets, what ID you need, and how to book so you can visit at a lower price.

Who Qualifies for the Student Discount?

The reduced ticket for students applies to visitors aged 15 to 25. You must show a valid ISIC (International Student Identity Card) or an equivalent student ID that proves your status and age. The discount is granted at the entrance, so even if you book a full-price ticket online by mistake, you cannot get a refund on site—book the reduced type when possible, or buy at the box office with your card. Some sellers allow you to select “student” or “reduced” when booking; always have your ID ready on the day.

Student Prices for the Doge's Palace

With the student (reduced) rate: the St. Mark's Square Museums ticket is typically 15 € (instead of 35 € full at the box office or 30 € full online). The Secret Itineraries and Hidden Treasures tours are typically 20 € (instead of 40 €). The Museum Pass is typically 25 € (instead of 50 €). So the student discount halves or more than halves the cost compared to full price. For the latest figures, see our prices page and the official MUVE website.

Getting an ISIC Card

The ISIC (International Student Identity Card) is widely accepted for student discounts in Italy and across Europe. You can apply for it online or at student travel offices if you are enrolled at a school or university. The card is valid for one year and often pays for itself with a few museum and transport discounts. If you do not have ISIC, check whether the Doge's Palace and MUVE accept your national or university student card; the official visitor information lists “holders of ISIC” and may specify equivalent documents.

Booking Student Tickets in Advance

You can book Doge's Palace tickets in advance and select the reduced/student option if the seller offers it. This lets you secure a time slot and skip the ticket queue. When you arrive, present your confirmation and your student ID. If the booking platform does not have a student option, you can sometimes book full price and ask at the box office whether a refund of the difference is possible—but this is not guaranteed; better to buy reduced directly when available. Third-party sellers may have different rules; check before paying.

Secret Itineraries and Hidden Treasures as a Student

The Secret Itineraries and Hidden Treasures tours are popular with visitors who want to see the prisons, Casanova's cell, and the Doge's private rooms. As a student you pay the reduced price (e.g. 20 €) and still get the full guided experience plus access to the rest of the palace and the other St. Mark's Square museums. Tours have fixed times and limited places, so book early. Remember to bring your student ID; the guide or staff may check it.

Rolling Venice Card – Under-30 Discounts

If you are under 30 and visiting Venice, the Rolling Venice Card offers discounts on vaporetti and many attractions, including reduced entry to MUVE museums like the Doge's Palace. You can combine it with your student status: the reduced ticket category applies to both. The card is available at tourist offices and other points of sale. See our discounts page for more.
